Q. Are you a confident person?
United States
A. Only on certain occasions.
Generally, I'm not confident in the slightest. I have desperately low self-esteem, and so that obviously limits how confident I am. I'm really terrible sometimes, because I'm so afraid of looking dumb. For example, if my boyfriend asks, "Guess where I'm going tomorrow?" I wouldn't guess for the life of me, because if I get it wrong, I'll look like an idiot.
Will I really look like an idiot? No. He'd love me just the same if I answered wrong. But some part of me thinks that way.
I always assume I've failed tests and done badly on essays and that I'm going to crash as soon as I start driving (I really need to get some lessons sometime...) and that I'll screw up everything in every way possible. I have basically zero confidence.
However, I have a tendency to act confident when the time calls for it. If I need to act strong for someone, I have all the confidence in the world. If a friend is crying because she thinks she did something wrong, and I know she didn't, I will be the most confident person you'll ever meet so I can cheer her up.
So in short, I'm only confident on the outside, on occasion. The rest of the time, I'm ridiculously unconfident.
P.S. unconfident is not a word D:
