Q. Hey answerer, I'm 17, and for some reason I randomly get all depresse and hate my life and stuff. I'm definately not emo/punk or whatever. In fact I spend most of my time as a really happy guy. I jsut get the maybe one day a fortnight bad moods. Do you know why this is, or how I can avoid it?
Cheers, Phobes.

A. Ahh.. Recent research that primarily studied bats noted that an average of 1 in 15 days saw cave-bats as being ill-tempered. the research then was taken elsewhere:
The phenomenon was proven to be common amongst the antipodes, and it due to being upside down for so long.
Sounds like you could be an Aussie. or a Kiwi... but as your message wasn't ranting about Aussies, I'd contend that you ARE one.

Serious answer... Food. It could very very simply be that your blood-sugar level is low. There's also a chance of diabetes... if you're used to eating HUGE amounts of sugar, you might have become a diabetic..
Tiredness is also a normal factor.
So... of you're feeling particularly crap, make a simple sandwich and have a munch. if you're not feeling more jolly in say... 40 minutes, try having a little cat-nap (look up "Dali's Spoon" ... a cool method of catching your brain while it's dreaming WEIRD shit as used for insporation by Salvador Dali in his more screwed-up paintings. This VERY simple trick can make cat-naps both FAST and hilarious)
Dali's spoon in short... Lie down or sit in comfy seat holding a spoon in your fingertips. you should be holding it in a way that - when you loose conciousness (sleep) you drop it... the Clatter (put a big plate on the floor under your hand) will wake you.... and you get woken JUST as you enter the best "dreamy" bit of your sleep.
alternatively, hold a bunch of keys: same effect.
The idea is that just Getting to the point of sleeping has the same effect as a couple of hours' snooze.
So.. try the eating thing as a 1st... power-napping as a second, and if all else fails, go talk to a doctor: It's good that at 17 you're smart enough to know that something's not right... and even better that you're seeking advice.
